Community Health Systems Resource Group Welcome
The Community Health Systems Resource Group (CHSRG) vision is to create and implement systemic models for children's success through the transfer of knowledge to all who can influence healthy outcomes for children. Our approach has been to create partnerships with community organizations to facilitate knowledge exchange and the adoption of evidence-based practices. Our most recent endeavour was a series of international symposia, which has continued to extend our commitment to developing community capacity to improve the outcomes for children and youth. We hope that you and your colleagues enjoyed participating in this exciting and important work.
Sincerely,
Dr. Bruce Ferguson
Director, CHSRG
Collaborative Research Symposia Series
The Community Health Systems Resource Group at the Hospital for Sick Children has completed the series of symposia focused on “collaborative community research as a systemic approach to changing front-line practice”. The symposia took place between October 2007 and Winter 2009 at different venues around Toronto. Topics included Mental Health and Educational issues, such as Early Intervention in Psychosis, Girl’s Aggressive Behaviour Problems, Prevention of Eating Disorders and Eating Problems, Interventions for Aggressive Behaviours, Issues in Contemporary Education, Utilizing Social Media and Child/Youth Identities; all with the common theme of changing practice by using collaborative research.
All of the keynote addresses and presentations can be found in the
corresponding agendas. Edited books by the keynote speakers and discussants are
currently being produced for some of the symposia. Information on how to obtain
copies of the books will be posted on this site, closer to each of the book's
