Mechanisms of Change in Developmental Psychopathology


“From Science to Practice and Back: Mechanisms of Change in Developmental Psychopathology” was held on October 17th, 2008. The symposium highlighted research focused on casual mechanisms that contribute to different forms of developmental psychopathology or problem behaviours in youth as well as mechanisms of change underlying evidenced-based interventions.

Dr. Isabela Granic, Research Scientist, Community Health Systems Resource Group, SickKids hosted the symposium. The keynote speakers included Dr. Ronald Dahl, Dr. Rutger Engels, Dr. Christopher Lalonde, Dr. Stephen Hinshaw, Dr. Brooke Molina, Dr. Thomas Dishion and reflectives were presented by Dr. Marc Lewis and Dr. Debra Pepler. Most of the speaker’s presentations can be found in the agenda section.

The conference was sponsored by The Canadian Institute for Health Research, The Hospital for Sick Children and The Ontario Mental Health Foundation.
