“Multiple Diversities: Child/Youth Identity and Life Outcomes” was held on December 1st, 2009. This interdisciplinary, interactive and multimedia symposium succeeded in bringing together leading national and international experts in three fields of research: identity and diversity; migration and resettlement; child/youth health and wellbeing. The goal was to explore the links between the identification processes and the life outcomes of our diverse immigrant and refugee children and youth. The research findings presented were regarding 1) the links between identification processes and child/youth health and wellbeing, 2) identify key knowledge gaps, 3) discussing policy and practice implications.

The launch of the Canadian Identities Database (CID) also took place. CID is an interdisciplinary electronic reference database of Canadian research on identity developed to facilitate access to this highly specialized research literature. The CID database may be accessed directly via: www.annekerummens.ca
